If your real name is showing up to other people when you add them or pm them do the following:

• From the drop down menu click on Messenger and select my Contact Details.
• Type in the name you want to use in the nickname box.
• Click OK.

If you want to make sure Yahoo! do not change your contact details again without your permission then do the following:

• Go to http://edit.yahoo.com/config/eval_profile.
• Where it says Address / Contact Information click on edit.
• Now change the First, Middle, and Last name to what you want it to show.
• Click Finished at the bottom of the page.
• Click finished (again) at the top of the page.

And that you done.
